Here is a fablous instrument it was introduced to me by the great percussionist Ben Grossman of Loreena Mc Kennett fame. It is an ingeneous thing of beauty. A tambourine a snare drum and a tunable drum all wrapped up in one. It is made in France by Guillaume Toutain. Believe it or not it uses hydrolic bike brakes as the mechanism to tune the head and the snare is activated by your thumb. It has quite a broad range of sounds for something you can hold in the palm of your hand. Check out Carlo Rizzo to see what can be done in the hands of a master.
